Families Travel! Sarah Goes on a Quadra Island Farm Stay

In August 2009, Sarah Pugh, her husband Stirling and 3-year-old daughter Rowan rented a kitchen-equipped cottage from Bold Point Farmstay for six nights. Their hosts, Rod and Geraldine, run the farmstay on the secluded and rustic Quadra Island, BC. Quadra Island is located about three hours north of Victoria (and involves a quick 10-minute ferry ride). Here’s why Sarah thought her family’s stay on a functioning farm was so fantastic: Q: What did you do at the family-friendly farm? Dine Around Seattle Sets the Table for Families

During the month of March, Sundays through Thursdays, many travelers and locals take advantage of “Dine Around Seattle.” Frugal foodies can choose from an appetizer, dinner and dessert at some of Seattle’s best restaurants – all for $30. Photo Friday: Vancouver 2010

These brilliant Chinese lanterns competed against Olympic mascots, trinket booths, singers, food vendors, ticket seekers and ticket scalpers, wandering performers and everything else going on at Vancouver 2010’s Plaza of Nations. But the crimson beacons held their own, as they swayed in front of the twilight-touched mountains surrounding the city. The photo demonstrates why I love this city so much: Vancouver’s rich cultural diversity and all-seasons natural playground. I’m thankful I’m only a three-hour drive away. This is my first Photo Friday. Thanks for all that you do, Debbie at DeliciousBaby.
